Hello, welcome to my homepage! My name is Junhui Zhang. I am currently a research fellow at the Distributed Aerospace Systems and Control Laboratory, University of Michigan advised by Prof. Dimitra Panagou. Before joining UMich, I held a postdoctoral position at Purdue University advised by Prof. Xiaonan Lu. I got my Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from Tongji University in 2021 under the guidance of Prof. Jitao Sun. I was a visiting Ph.D. student at the Distributed Cooperative Systems Research (DISCOVER) Lab of University of Notre Dame advised by Prof. Hai Lin, and at the University of Johannesburg advised by Prof. Qing-Guo Wang and Prof. Tshilidzi Marwala, in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

My research interests are the intersection between control, optimization, machine learning and formal methods with their applications to decision making in cyber-physical systems and safety-critical systems. Currently, I am developing safe, reliable and efficient control, optimization, and machine learning methods for motion plannning of robots. I am also interested in the control of connected automated vehicles and power systems.
